Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />Date: September 26, 2017 <br />Item Description: Communication Items <br />Item No: 4 <br />Public Works Project updates: <br />• 2017 Pavement Management Project <br />o This year's project involves 7 miles of street resurfacing, 1 mile of watermain <br />replacement and various storm sewer upgrades. <br />o The project is approximately 70% completed. <br />• Water Booster Station Update and Water Model <br />o Bids for this project were opened on August 22, 2017. The City received two bids <br />and, based on Best Value scores, awarded a contract to Municipal Builder, Inc. in <br />the amount of $748,500, and an overall technical score of 94.25. The engineer's <br />estimate for this proj ect was $1,206,5 51. <br />o This phase includes a new emergency generator and new electrical equipment. <br />Lift Station Project <br />o Staff began the design process with its consultants on upgrading the Walsh storm <br />water lift station and upgrading the Lounge sanitary lift station. <br />Ramsey County updates: <br />• Ramsey County will be resurfacing Cleveland Ave between Iona St and County Road D. <br />Work is anticipated to be completed toward the end of October. <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation updates: <br />• Snelling Avenue Project — Resurfacing project between Como Ave and TH 36. <br />o This project is substantially complete with some minor finishing items remaining <br />that will have some short term, limited, impact on traffic. <br />• MnDOT is finalizing plans to perform pavement maintenance on 35W south of TH 36 in <br />2018. There will be impacts to some ramps in Roseville including the Cleveland <br />Ave/County Road B ramps and access to TH 280. Staff will bring more information on <br />this project to Commission as details are made available. <br />Major Maintenance Activities: <br />• Over half through City on third sweep of the year. Will have one more Citywide sweep at <br />peak of leaf out. <br />• Maintenance staff will begin replacing all City street name signs this fall and into the <br />winter. All signs will now have the Roseville rose and have maximum retro reflectivity <br />for visibility. <br />• Reclaimed trails at Rosebrook Park and added segment on north side of park to complete <br />a loop around the entire park. <br />• Ongoing street patching, monthly compost turning, tree trimming, and storm sewer <br />cleaning/repairs. <br />• Continue working on meter repairs and replacements. <br />
