He suggested they not include support for Metro Transit in the policy since
402
it is not a choice for them.
403
404
Member Seigler stated they should support whatever is the best deal for the City,
405
not necessarily Metro Transit exclusively. He agreed that Item 4.2 be removed
406
completely.
407
408
Chair Cihacek stated until the State laws change, it is a given that Metro Transit is
409
what is used.
410
411
The Commission agreed to remove Item 4.2.
412
413
Member Misra commented the added wording to Item 4.4 was put in to promote
414
alternatives and alleviate congestion.
415
416
Chair Cihacek stated it is important to develop transit hubs, but the statement
417
referring to advocating the extension of the A Line Bus Rapid Transit line does not
418
fit.
419
420
Member Wozni suggested'Vwor m Item 4.12 be combined with Item
421
4.4.
422
423
After discussion, the Commission agreed Item 4.4 bL changed to, "Promote transit
424
hubs and allow access to a robust public transit system that is integral to the
425
metropolitan system and meets long-term needs."
426
427
Item 4.11. Advocate to properly fund public transportation and transit systems.
428
Member Seigler referred to Item 4.11 and suggested they include, "Advocate to
429
properly build highway and highway systems" in the policy, relating to his previous
430
comments.
431
432
Chair Cihacek suggested Item 4.11 be changed to, "Advocate for efficient funding
433
solutions for transportation."
434
435
Member Seigler suggested Item 4.11 be changed to, "Advocated to properly build
436
public transportation and transit systems." It shows there is a need, but it is not
437
specific on how to fund it.
438
439
Chair Cihacek suggested this item be removed entirely.
440
441
Member Heimerl stated some language should be included to ensure that the
442
highway is built appropriately.
