Regular City Council Meeting
Monday,November 13, 2017
Page 9
past averages and actual staff time taken in review and inspection time; with a flat
fee versus the fees previously based on valuation.
Councilmembers asked that staff provide a footnote designating that change or
add to the comment schedule.
Page 12, Residential Property Improvement Fees, etc.
Mayor Roe noted that the fees had gone from a dollar amount to nothing; and
asked if they had been eliminated or handled differently.
Mr. Englund responded that, in an effort to reorganize various fee categories,
those highlighted items were not included on page 14, with no change, just relo-
cated.
Mayor Roe asked staff to make a note of that on the schedule as well.
Councilmembers addressed other fees on page 12 that were not moved to page 14
(e.g. shed permits, warm air furnaces, etc.).
With different versions displayed versus those included in the packet materials,
staff was directed to coordinate changes accordingly.
Page 14, Fire Inspection Fees
As with previous fees moved to different categories, Mr. Englund clarified the
change from "Minimum" to "Flat," with Councilmember Laliberte and her col-
leagues asking for consistency throughout the document.
At the request of Councilmember Laliberte, Mr. Englund clarified that he had
listed residential improvement fees alphabetically in an attempt to make them eas-
ier for the public to find and be aware of.
Mayor Roe noted the need for City Council review of that final document with
corrections and revisions prior to adoption.
Page 7, Open Fires
Councilmember Laliberte asked that staff include a newsletter tidbit to bring this
new increased fine to the attention of the public.
8. Approve Minutes
9. Approve Consent Agenda
10. Council & City Manager Communications, Reports, and Announcements
Assistant City Manager Olson reviewed upcoming draft future agendas and responded to
council member questions and comments regarding those items.
