Surface equipment can be removed to prevent its improper use by others <br />(DA). <br />Mitch Converse also received a copy of the 10/16/96 minutes. <br />Minutes were unanimously approved, including the above change. <br />�,�� Q��st�oti �i�v.�lo��ne�t — g�z��ral��t�s�i�ts: <br />Queslions from Anklan, Gramer, and Egli were reviewed, with additional yuestions from others. <br />Egli, Wood, and North will condense questions into 1-2 pages to be mailed to panel <br />participants and LOTF members before 11/13 (euvironmental) and 12/4 <br />(safetyiregulatory!enforcement) meetings. <br />At the 11/13 and 12/4 meetings, panelists should briefly introduce themselves and state their <br />credentials/e�pertise. The list of questions will prompt panel members' discussion, and <br />LOTF caii ask additional questions as needed. The guest(s) with greater expzrtise on a <br />specific questian can answer first; a11 panelists need not answer every yuestion. Experience <br />and perspectives based on other metro-area lakzs may als� be of value, <br />2. Detennine questions and �uests for environmeirtal.�an�l f�r 1 1/13/96 meeting, <br />Steve North received a lettzr from Karl Keel stating lrow GLWMO intends to interact with the <br />task force, North will obtain a statement of th� goals and role of the GLWMO for the task <br />force. <br />Jzff Roessler (GLWI�40) will coiiie oii 11/13, bttt will represent hitiiself aiid not GLVVMO. <br />Terry Noonan, Toin Peterson, and Ed Musielwicz will be officially invited for 11/13 by North. <br />Don Meyer is unavailable till Jan or Feb 97. He previously supp�rted a change to a 150' buff. er <br />in �1987 (GW). Members agreed to wait until after the 11/13/96 meeting to determine if <br />Meyer's Secchi disc data are needed. Some Owasso clarity data are in the 1995 GLWMD <br />Interim Report. <br />Ttie proposed questions prompted some discussion, partly sutnmarized below. Oti�er discussion <br />of the questions will be incorporated into minutes of panel discussions. <br />Lakes go through cycles (e.g. depth; JG). Prairie lake lifetimes are �10,000 yr (DA) if they are <br />not subject to human influence (JS). <br />Current lake weed and algae control exceeds llNR limits but is grandfathered. Shore owners <br />would be angry and real estate prices would drop if it was reduced {GW,SP). Mechanical <br />methods seem less effective (KL) but were widely used in the 30's (DA). Harvesting without <br />removiug cut materials is illegal. Shore owners cannot appl,y chemicals witli�ut a perniit <br />(BW). <br />
