ONGOING TOPICS <br />6) <br />a) Education Primer for Parks and Recreation <br />Chair Gelbach and Vice- Chair <br /> on <br />page 10 of the Primer. <br />The Commissioners discussed that it was a helpful document and that it was laid out <br />nicely. <br /> <br />Commissioner Baggenstoss suggested adding biographical information (potentially <br />including pictures) for Parks and Recreation Staff and Commissioners to the Primer. <br />b) Cedarholm Community Building Replacement <br />Staff gave an update of the Cedarholm Community Building replacement. The project <br />continues to be on schedule. <br />Updated pictures were provided which showed the steel beams in place and walls starting <br />to be built. The walls and trusses are being constructed using certified lumber. <br />Staff continues to work on policies and operational plans including the alcohol policy in <br />anticipation of the building opening in 2018. <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT <br />7) <br /> The City Council passed support for the OVAL bonding in 2020. City Council is <br />looking to the Parks and Recreation Commission to be part of the process. Stantec is <br />working with Roseville Parks and Recreation to develop a Capital Improvement <br />Report for the OVAL, to be included in the bonding information. <br /> The 1716 Marion Street and 2134 Cleveland Avenue Park Plans will be brought to <br />the City Council in early 2018. <br /> Roseville Parks and Recreation will continue to work with Ramsey County to identify <br />the deer population in Roseville via aerial survey. Once results are released to <br />Roseville, the information will be provided to the Commission and City Council. <br /> A DNR Grant in the amount of $353,000 was awarded to Roseville Parks and <br />Recreation for the Natural Resource Renewal Program. The Grant documents are <br />being finalized and will be brought to the City Council. <br /> Potential Parks and Recreation Youth Commissioner, Joey Quick, will be presented <br />to the City Council for appointment in January 2018. <br /> The Parks and Recreation 2018 winter brochure will be in homes the first week of <br />January, 2018.
