Attachment D <br />City of Roseville Community Aspirations: <br /> <br />2014 Results & Accomplishments <br />Each year, the Mayor of Roseville presents a State of the City Address to highlight various results and <br />accomplishments over the past year. These achievements are summarized in the spirit of the City’s <br />Mission Statement and in the context of the City’s Community Aspirations, both of which are identified <br />in other sections of this document. The State of the City Address is typically given in February of each <br />year. <br />As of the date of this publication, the results and accomplishments for the most recent year have not yet <br />been compiled. The results of the previous year grouped by community aspiration category are shown <br />below. <br />Welcoming, inclusive, and respectful <br />Hosted a Naturalization Ceremony at the Roseville Skating Center <br />Sponsored a New American Forum in partnership with the Karen Organization <br />Partnered with the Roseville School District and other agencies to provide assistance to <br />immigrant populations <br />Safe and law-abiding <br />Recognized a decrease in violent crimes <br />Realized an increase in property crimes such as fraud, theft, and burglary <br />Established a new crime scene investigation team to increase case closure rates <br />Initiated the transition to a full-time firefighter staffing model to improve shift coverage <br />Economically prosperous, with a stable and broad tax base <br />Experienced an overall market value increase of 5.0 (6.9% over past two years), coupled with <br />general market appreciation across most property types <br />Realized the construction of twelve new single-family housing units, and $23 million in new <br />commercial/retail value <br />Secure in our diverse and quality housing and neighborhoods <br />Approved an 18-unit multi-family housing project at the former Dale Street Fire Station site <br />Inspected over 1,000 apartments and 159 buildings as part of the City’s Rental Registration & <br />Inspection program <br />Environmentally responsible, with well-maintained natural assets <br />Initiated a single-sort recycling program through a new contract with Eureka Recycling <br />Addressed a variety of drainage problems by adding 33,000 cubic feet of storm waterretention <br />systems <br />Continued restoration of natural resources as part of the Park Renewal Program <br />Earned the designation of a Minnesota Green Step City <br />114 <br /> <br />
