i <br /> EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br /> Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 12th day of February, 2018,at <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: Willmus, Etten, McGehee; and Mayor Roe and the <br /> following were absent: Laliberte. <br /> Member Willmus introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 11493 <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CORRIDORS OF COMMERCE FUNDS <br /> FOR 35W MNPASS LANE FROM TH 36 TO MISSISSIPPI RIVER <br /> WHEREAS, in 2013 the Corridors of Commerce program was created by the Minnesota <br /> Legislature to accelerate improvements to corridors that have regional and economic <br /> significance and that are not being adequately addressed through normal funding options;and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2013, 2014 and 2017 the Minnesota Legislature designated funds for the <br /> Corridors of Commerce program and as a result MnDOT has decided to select$400 million of <br /> projects in the 2018 round of Corridors of Commerce funding;and <br /> WHEREAS, MnDOT will be constructing a MnPASS lane in both directions of 35W between <br /> TH 36 in Roseville and Anoka County Road 53 in Blaine which will be open to traffic by 2022; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the Metropolitan Council has submitted an application for Corridors of Commerce <br /> funds to extend the MnPASS lane on southbound 3 5 W from its future terminus at TH 36 to the <br /> Mississippi River in Minneapolis; and <br /> WHEREAS,the extension of the MnPASS lane in the southbound direction would be beneficial <br /> to the residents and businesses of the City of Roseville and the metro region as awhole. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br /> Minnesota,that the City of Roseville supports the construction of a southboundMnPASS lane <br /> as a new lane along 35W south of TH 36 and further supports the use of Corridors of Commerce <br /> funds for this project. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br /> McGehee, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Willmus, <br /> Etten, McGehee;and Mayor Roe and the following voted against the same: none. <br /> WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
