They <br />The message from the public has been very positive and consistent: <br />People love Roseville’s parks; they are one of the main reasons that they <br />appreciate Roseville. <br />We are committed to following the master plan vision for parks, set in <br />2010 <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />In addition to the public engagement process, the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission has been reviewing the goals and policies from the 2010 Master <br />Plan through a series of meetings and exercises. They have verified their validity <br />and are very supportive of continuing those elements with minor revisions. The <br />“Goals and Policy” section below reflects those modestly revised statements. <br />CG <br />ITYWIDEOALS <br />Several of the Citywide Goals established in Chapter 2 relate to the topic of <br />parks, recreation, trails and open space, including: <br />1.Create an attractive, vibrant, and effective city with a high quality of life <br />by implementing placemaking principles to the design and <br />management of the public realm. <br />2.Foster and support community gathering places both large and small. <br />3.Create gathering places in a diverse range of sizes and types and spaces <br />throughout the City to promote community and create spaces for arts <br />and culture. <br />4.Preserve and enhance soil, water, and urban forest resources. <br />5.Expand and maintain year-round, creative programs and facilities for all <br />ages, abilities, and interests. <br />6.Provide high quality and well-maintained facilities, parks, and trails. <br />7.Enable active and healthy lifestyles for all. <br />8.Plan for and support a multi-modal transportation system that moves <br />people and goods safely and efficiently <br />9.Expand, maintain, and promote a system of continuous and connected <br />pathways that encourage walking and biking. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />
