Skating Center Newsletter <br />OVALumination & Opening Day - <br />Friday, November 10 <br />The Guidant John Rose MN OVAL will open for the <br />th <br />season on Friday, November 10. Festivities will begin at <br />6:00pm with the OVALumination as the switch is flipped <br />on more than 100,000 lights strung over more than 120 <br />trees surrounding the OVAL. <br />A special three-hour public skating and open hockey <br />session will immediately follow the tree lighting with special guests Nordy (from the <br />Minnesota Wild) and Goldy the Gopher slated to appear. Admission is $6 and skate rental <br />is $4. <br />Click here for public skating schedules, rates and other OVAL information. <br />Learn to Speedskate <br />It might be too late to qualify for this winter's Olympics in <br />South Korea, but there is ample opportunityfor skaters of <br />all ages learn to speedskate on the same sheet of ice that <br />many Olympians have trained on. The Youth Novice <br />Speedskating Course meets twice per week and is <br />geared toward first-time or slightly experienced <br />speedskaters. Participants will have the opportunity to <br />learn the skills necessary for speed and even participate <br />in class meets. Don't delay, classes begin November 16! <br />More info and registration... <br />For other experienced or aspiring youth or adult speedskaters, there are speedskating <br />clubs, one-on-one lessons, speedskating eventandopen speedskating times scheduled <br />throughout the season. <br />Roseville Skate School <br />Whether an aspiring hockey player who is new to the <br />iceor an experienced skater looking to perfect that <br />double-axel, the Roseville Skating School has a class for <br />you. The Roseville Skate School is sanctioned by Ice <br />Sports Industry (ISI) and uses experienced instructors <br />with an exceptional 12 to 1 student to instructor ratio.
