49Roseville is in the process of updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The Roseville <br />50Commission is currently working to update the Parks & Recreation Goals and Policies to <br />51include in the updated Comprehensive Plan. <br />52 <br />Planned Improvements <br />53b) <br />i)Woodview/Reservoir Woods Dog Park <br />54 <br />55Master planning is under way for all off-leash dog parks in Ramsey County.The final <br />56community inputmeeting is October 4, 2017 at the New Brighton Community <br />57Center.Specific plans for thedog parks will be created from input collected at the <br />58public meetings.The Commission brought up that there was a broken fence covered <br />59with an orange cone at the Woodview/Reservoir Woods Dog Park. Oyanagi indicated <br />60that they would check on it. <br />61 <br />ii)McCarrons Park –lighting and other <br />62 <br />63Commissioner Stonerbrought up the extremely dark section of pathat McCarrons <br />64Park.Specifically,the path that is located right next to the street.He believes that the <br />65considerable dark areasmaybeacontributing factor in the eroding sense of security <br />66in the area. <br />67 <br />68Oyanagi responded that Ramsey County parks are not lit in order to not invite people <br />69into the parks after dark. Ramsey County Chair Pederson suggested bringing this to <br />70the attention of Ramsey County Public Works to work in conjunction with Roseville <br />71Public works on the issue. Oyanagi confirmed that the concern would be passed on. <br />72 <br />iii)SouthEast Roseville Revitalization <br />73 <br />74The Roseville City Council identified a parcel of land at 1716 Marion Streetto create <br />75a neighborhood park. Currently, Roseville is working through the planning process <br />76for this site. Roseville anticipates developing the site in 2018. <br />77 <br />78Rosevillestaff discussed the new youth outreach program, Rec Connect.This new <br />79youth summer program was very successful and it is anticipated thatit will continue <br />80to grow. <br />81 <br />Natural Resources Restoration/EAB <br />82c) <br />83Ramsey County was awarded a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR)– <br />84Conservation Resource Legacy Grantin 2017.The Grant is being used to fund projects in <br />85parks with largeexpanses of land(20-80 acres). Potential projects at Lake Johanna and <br />86McCarrons Park may be explored in 2018. <br />87 <br />88Chair Gelbach questioned what futureinvasives mightpotentiallybea problem in <br />89Roseville. <br />90 <br />91Ramsey County staffconfirmed that they are looking at water invasives, such as, zebra <br />92mussels. <br />93 <br /> <br />
