<br />Special Events for 2018 include; Discover Your Parks (DYP), Puppet Wagon, Citywide <br />th <br />Garage Sale (May 31-June 2), Rosefest, July 4 Party in the Park. New events for 2018 <br />include a Joint DYP with Ramsey County on July 25, 2018 at Lake McCarrons and a Kids <br />Garage Sale on June 24, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. <br /> <br />Roseville Parks and Recreation is now hiring for seasonal recreation group leaders, sport <br />coaches, preschool staff, gymnastics instructors and puppeteers. <br /> <br />Staff recapped that all offerings are based on community interests and expectations. In <br />addition, the Sports Associations are run by volunteers who provide a high level of service <br />that would not be available without their hard work. <br /> <br />Registration for Spring/Summer programs can be done at www.cityofroseville.com/parks, in <br />person, or call 651-792-7006 to register over the phone. <br /> <br />Commissioner Baggenstoss asked for confirmation that the Discover Your Parks (DYP) <br />programs are free of charge. He stated that the joint DYP at McCarrons will be great for the <br />kids and families in the area. He also relayed that he supports free programs to ensure all <br />people have the opportunity to participate. <br /> <br />Staff confirmed that a scholarship program is available to allow all youth access to programs <br />offered by Roseville Parks and Recreation. <br /> <br />Vice-Chair O’Brien commented that she is always impressed at the many offerings Roseville <br />has, especially noting the free Puppet Wagon program. <br /> <br />5) ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR <br />Chair Gelbach provided additional detail on the role of Vice-Chair. Brokke thanked Chair <br />Gelbach and Vice-Chair O’Brien for all of their hard work over the last year. Vice-Chair <br />O’Brien thanked Chair Gelbach for his leadership as Chair. <br /> <br />Commission Recommendation: <br />Chair Gelbach moved to recommend Vice-Chair O’Brien as the new Chair of the Roseville <br />Parks and Recreation Commission. Commissioner Warzecha seconds. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stoner nominated Commissioner Baggenstoss for the position of Vice-Chair <br />of the Roseville Parks and Recreation Commission. Commissioner Bole seconds. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
