Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement <br /> Commission <br /> Agenda Item <br /> DATE: April 18, 2018 ITEM: 8a <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Discuss Fire Department Phase II Community Engagement <br /> Background <br /> At the March 26, 2018 Council meeting, the Fire Department presented their strategic outline <br /> for Phase II of their staffing plan. As part of this proposal, the Fire Department sought Council <br /> approval to conduct community engagement activities to gauge the interest and support of the <br /> Roseville community for this next step. As part of that engagement, the Fire Department will be <br /> in attendance at the meeting to gather input from Commissioners on whether there are specific <br /> areas of the community which are not currently in the outreach plan. In addition, if there are <br /> specific areas of the community not currently included, they will be seeking input on methods <br /> to reach out to those communities, specific contacts within those communities, best times <br /> and/or locations for engagement, and/or any additional information the Commission can <br /> provide to assist with engaging the right groups. <br /> Recommendation <br /> The Fire Department is seeking input from the Commission on whether any additional outreach <br /> to specific areas of the community is needed, and if so, specific methods to conduct that <br /> outreach. <br /> Attachments <br /> Fire Department Powerpoint <br /> Calendar of Events <br />
