Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement
Commission
Agenda Item
This is part of an ongoing natural resources renewal project. It includes prairie/savanna,
wetland, and shoreline restoration and management. Volunteer opportunities include an
educational component and status update of the overall project.
Hands-only CPR Class
Roseville firefighters are offering a free, hands-only cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) class
on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. The class meets at the Roseville Fire Station, 2701 Lexington Ave.
North. Firefighters will teach an easy-to-learn hands-only CPR process.
Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops and can no longer pump blood to the brain or vital
organs. According to the American Heart Association, only about one in 10 heart attack victims
survives. By using hands-only CPR, we may be able to improve those odds.
Hands-only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. It is recommended for use by anyone
who sees a person collapse suddenly. It can be used temporarily until professional help arrives.
Call 651-792-7009 if you have questions.
Earth Day at Harriet Alexander Nature Center
Celebrate Earth Day. Join us at Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANG) on Saturday, April 21
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a fun-filled day that celebrates our planet. Activities include
music, parade, crafts, tours, planting a tree and butterfly-friendly plants and an Earth Day
birthday cake.
The Earth Day celebration is sponsored by B-Dale Club, Half Price Books and Kinderberry Hill.
This will be a zero waste event. Volunteers from Eureka Recycling and the City of Roseville will
assist with recycling and answer questions about recycling.
The first 100 guests (one per family) will receive a Chinook Book, thanks to a donation from
Music Go Round. Chinook Books have local coupons that promote environmental stewardship.
Additionally, we'll give away tree seedlings and garden seeds, while supplies last. Visitors can
also enter a drawing for a variety of prizes.
Harriet Alexander Nature Center is located at 2520 N. Dale Street in Roseville. For more
information visit www.cityofroseville.com/HANC or call 651-765-HANC (4262).
