Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement <br /> Commission <br /> Agenda Item <br /> DATE: March 21, 2018 ITEM: 7a <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Rosefest Parade Discussion <br /> Background <br /> The 2018 Rosefest Parade takes place on Monday, June 25 at 6:15 p.m. Applications are <br /> currently being accepted for parade units. Staff has submitted an application on behalf of all <br /> City Commissions. <br /> Last year the city purchased signs for each commission and t-shirts for City Commissioners. <br /> Additionally, staff worked with the HRIEC to send an email to all City Commissioners inviting <br /> them to participate in the parade and then coordinated the responses and follow up. <br /> At the February 21 meeting, commissioners discussed changing the focus of their entry this <br /> year to not only include inviting other commissioners to walk with them, but also inviting other <br /> groups that represent more diversity in the community. The commission requested a <br /> representative from the Rosefest Parade attend the March meeting to further discuss plans for <br /> the parade. Jill Anfang, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director will be in attendance. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Finalize decision on who to include in the parade. Identify any information that should be <br /> included in the staff report for the March 26 City Council meeting. <br /> Discuss timeline and planning for parade and identify next steps. <br /> Attachments <br /> None <br />
