Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement <br /> Commission <br /> Agenda Item <br /> DATE: March 21, 2018 ITEM: 7e <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: City Proclamations <br /> Background <br /> The Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission presented its recommendation on <br /> City Proclamations to the City Council at their February 12 meeting. Based on feedback from <br /> the City Council, the Commission chose to review the language of the following proclamations. <br /> 1. MLK day (Reyerson) <br /> 2. Black history month (Djevi) <br /> 3. Women's history (Peterson) <br /> 4. Constitution week (Dailey) <br /> 5. Hispanic heritage month (Eichenlaub) <br /> 6. LG BTQ(Groff) <br /> 7. Days of Remembrance (Iverson) <br /> 8. Fair housing (Groff) <br /> 9. Older Americans (Manke) <br /> 10. Race equality week- research (Holub) <br /> 11. Native American month (Holub) <br /> 12. Mental Health Awareness month (Carey) <br /> 13. Asian American history month (Djevi) <br /> 14. Disability awareness month -consultation (Hansel) <br /> 15. Human Trafficking/Exploitation - research (Peterson) <br /> Each Commissioner was assigned 1-2 proclamations to research and review. Attached is the <br /> feedback for each proclamation. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Review language and recommendations provided by commissioners for the proposed <br /> proclamations. Identify those proclamations that should be included in a recommendation for <br /> the City Council to adopt. Identify a proclamation to recommend as a "Featured Proclamation". <br />
