Item 5a. <br /> Staff Report <br /> Proposed Website Revisions <br /> Additions are highlighted in yellow. <br /> Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission <br /> Meetings: Third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Overview <br /> The Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission acts in an advisory capacity to <br /> the City Council on matters of human rights, inclusion and engagement. It is not the role of the <br /> Commission to investigate claims of discrimination or human rights violations. Rather, the <br /> commission provides leadership in the community in prevention of bias and hate crimes through <br /> education, collaborative community action and policy and program advice to the Council. The <br /> commission has nine members. The scope, duties and functions of the commission are to: <br /> (D Encourage full participation in the affi,@lIirs of the City and advise the City Council on programs and <br /> efforts that could improve civic engagement and community relations and human rights. <br /> (D Advise the City Council regarding the effE..,ctJve and meaningful involvement of Roseville residents <br /> in th6lir local government <br /> (D Propose programs, events, and piroject's to increase understanding, engagement, and inclusion <br /> with the work of the City. <br /> �IkinnainIlli Bio, IlBgo�j, auon and IEnggggmgntQm����� <br /> If you wish to file a Human Rights Complaint <br /> If you feel you have been the victim of discrimination or a human rights violation, you should <br /> contact the Minnesota Department of Human Rights to fill out a complaint inquiry form. You can <br /> either call their office, visit the office in person, or fill out the form online. Please note that <br /> submitting the form online does not mean you have filed a complaint.
