Item 8c.
Engagement Efforts
Free Car Seat Clinic
The City of Roseville is committed to keeping your children safe. One of the easiest things you
can do is to make sure that your child's car seat is installed correctly. Approximately 90% of car
seats are not. This could lead to serious injury or death if your child is in an accident.
Roseville is collaborating with Children's Hospital of Minnesota to offer free car seat clinics.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will help residents install their kids or grandkids'
car seats. It takes approximately 30 minutes to install a car seat, and appointments are necessary.
Please bring the car seat manuals and your children to ensure that they fit securely in the car seat.
Roseville Fire Station
Saturday, November 11
9:00 to noon
Please park at the east side of the City Hall parking lot
Call 651-796-8142 or email . . .:s.oci,at; .s,del.a:c: z,( 1 :.:%......corn to schedule an appointment.
Hands-Only CPR Class
Roseville firefighters are offering free,hands-only cardio-pulmonary resuscitation(CPR)classes at
6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. This month class will be on November 15. Classes
meet at the Roseville Fire Station,2701 Lexington Ave.North. Firefighters teach an easy-to-learn
two-step,hands-only CPR process.
Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops and can no longer pump blood to the brain or vital
organs. According to the American Heart Association, only about one in 10 heart attack victims
survives. By using hands-only CPR,we may be able to improve those odds.
Hands-Only CPR is CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths. It is recommended for use by anyone who
sees a person collapse suddenly. It can be used temporarily until professional help arrives. Please call
651-792-7009 if you have questions.
CHAT: Your Health Care Agent
What does a healthcare agent need to know in order to be an effective advocate? Find out at the
next Roseville Community Health Awareness Team (CHAT) event on Saturday, November 4 at
10:30 a.m. at the Roseville Library.
Health care agents navigate both a complex medical system and family dynamics while honoring
your choices during a medical event.
