Attachment A <br /> 14 PROCLAMATION <br /> 15 <br /> 16 ARBOR DAY <br /> 17 <br /> 18 April 28, 2017 <br /> 19 <br /> 20 <br /> 21 WHEREAS, Roseville's trees have been a significant element of our community because of their <br /> 22 beauty and importance to our environment; and <br /> 23 <br /> 24 WHEREAS, Trees are an increasingly vital resource for Roseville, enriching our lives by <br /> 25 purifying air and water, helping to conserve soil and energy, in serving as <br /> 26 recreational settings and wildlife habitat of all kinds; and <br /> 27 <br /> 28 WHEREAS, Activities such as construction damage and pollution as well as drought and <br /> 29 disease have damaged and destroyed many trees which are therefore in need of <br /> 30 replacement, and <br /> 31 <br /> 32 WHEREAS, The City of Roseville seeks to positively impact our environment by planting trees <br /> 33 and insuring that these trees are nurtured and protected; and <br /> 34 <br /> 35 WHEREAS, Trees in our city increase property values, enhance the economic vitality of <br /> 36 business areas, and beautify our community, and <br /> 37 <br /> 38 WHEREAS, Trees, wherever they are planted, are a source of joy and spiritual <br /> 39 Renewal, and <br /> 40 <br /> 41 WHEREAS, Trees assist with drainage, flood mitigation and reduce city costs for sewer and <br /> 42 water treatment, and <br /> 43 <br /> 44 WHEREAS, Everyone is encouraged to care for our trees and plant as many trees as possible <br /> 45 <br /> 46 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby <br /> 47 proclaim April 28, 2017 as Arbor Day in the City of Roseville. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of <br /> 5o Roseville to be affixed this 27th day of March, 2017. <br /> 51 <br /> 52 <br /> 53 <br /> 54 <br /> 55 <br /> 56 Daniel J.
