City of Roseville Pathway Master Plan <br /> <br />c)Surveys have indicated that the value of a home goes up an average of 6% as <br />a result of its close proximity to a trail. <br />4)Transportation <br />a)A pathways system provides an increased convenience for non-motorized <br />transportation to access local and regional destinations. <br />b)Pathway use, as an alternative, assists in the relief of roadway congestion and <br />frees up parking spaces. <br />c)Pathways provide another level of service in the desired multi-modal <br />transportation system by providing connections to transit. <br />5)Health <br />a)Users of pathways, whether they walk, bike or in-line skate, improve their <br />physical fitness and reduce personal stress. <br />b)Pathway trips, when utilitarian, add fitness into one’s daily routine. <br />6)Environmental <br />a)Using pathways as an alternative to motorized vehicles reduces air and noise <br />pollution. <br />b)Bicycling and in-line skating are energy efficient. <br />c)Pathway use does not consume fossil fuels. <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />
