The Chief of Police is directly responsible to the City Manager � <br />and has immediate authority over all the City Police officers in their <br />official functions. This entails participating as a member of the City <br />Manager�s team, coordinating department affairs with other law enforcemen� <br />agencies and providing advice and counsel to the City Manager on matters <br />pertaining to law enforcement. Police Administration is responsible for - <br />coordinating the City's Civi1 Defense function as directed by the City <br />Manager. The Chief s office also provides information to and maintains j <br />external relations with the general public. This program also insures [ <br />adherence to and compliance with internal department policies and <br />procedures as we11 as general city policies. <br />e <br />2. The Field Training Officer program ensures proper training of new <br />officers. <br />3. A child print program enables elementary and pre-school children <br />to be fingerprinted for easier identification. <br />4. The bicycle program encourages bicycle safety. <br />EXPENDITURE COMMENTS <br />1. Supplies has increased to reflect the cost of supplies for the <br />copier purchased by police in 1986. <br />2. Miscellaneous Services shows a small increase reflecting the final <br />payment on the purchase of the police computer being made in 1986. <br />12 I <br />
