July 23, 1987 <br />TO: City Council <br />FROM: J.im Andr� <br />SUBJECT: 1988 PROPOSED BUDGET <br />Attached is the 1988 Proposed Budget and supporting documentation <br />for your consideration. <br />The Proposed Budget is preliminary in that not all details have <br />been finalized, and the Council has not yet reviewed the policy <br />implications inherent in the budget recommendations concerning <br />several programs. <br />The Work Session for the review of the Proposed Budget is <br />scheduled for Monday, August 3. It is recommended the Work <br />Session begin at 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m., to ensure sufficient <br />time for full review. <br />If the Council concurs with the general policy direction of the <br />budget, the Proposed Budget will be officially introduced at the <br />August 10 Council meeting. Final adoption is anticipated for the <br />August 24 Council meeting. <br />The Proposed Budget will be distributed to the media and to the <br />Public Library the week of August 10. The budget document will <br />also be available for public review at City Hall. <br />A Personnel Needs report, which addresses the positions requested <br />in the 1988 Budget and future personnel needs, will be submitted <br />under separate cover. <br />If any Council member needs additional information, please call <br />me at your convenience. <br />Attch. <br />i <br />
