NO. <br />26-07 <br />1989 <br />ADOPTED <br />55,620 <br />55,620 <br />Program: Planning <br />Objective: <br />To develop and implement plans for the orderly development of the <br />City to provide information necessary to enable the Council and <br />administrative staff to make sound decisions regarding the physical <br />development of the City and the provision of adequate public <br />facilities and services. <br />Activity: <br />1. The City contracts with a consultant to provide planning <br />services to the City. The planning consultant provides <br />support and guidance in the review of development proposals <br />and in providing reports and presentations to the Planning <br />Commission and Council regarding subdivision, platting, rezoning <br />of property, variances to the zoning code, and special use <br />permits on property. <br />2. The planning consultant also provides special reports and/or <br />design work for special projects, including tax increment <br />financing, grant applications, and City sponsored development <br />proposals. <br />3. In 1988, the City hired a Planning and Zoning Administrator <br />to coordinate day-to-day planning activities, administer the <br />Zoning Code, and supervise the Code Enforcement function. <br />EXPENDITURE COMMENTS: <br />1. The increase in Miscellaneous Services and Charges reflects <br />the mid-year 1988 increase in the Planning Consultant <br />retainer. The retainer was revised from $35,800 to $54,000 <br />in 1988, an increase of 51 percent. The retainer was <br />increased 3 percent for 1989. <br />Cfl <br />
