The <br />remaining changes relate to additional seasonal or temporary <br />positions. <br />FI <br />3 <br />Additional Election Judges for the State level elections. <br />A one-half time Intern in Community Development. <br />An additional seasonal Maintenance position at the Golf <br />Course. <br />4. Additional funding for temporary help in the Fire Prevention <br />Program. <br />Other Current Expenses <br />Other Current Expenses have increased $496,319, or 7.0 percent. <br />The major items causing this increase, in addition to the normal <br />inflation increases, are as follows: <br />1. <br />2 <br />3 <br />The Legal budget includes a requested 5o percent increase in <br />the Criminal Retainer due to an expanded workload. <br />The Contingency Account has increased by $50,000 to provide a <br />greater ability to deal with unforeseen financial problems. <br />The Planninq budget includes $15,000 for the update of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />4. Economic Development includes an increase of $50,000 for <br />legal and planning expenditures. <br />5. The Metropolitan Waste Control Commission's sanitary sewer <br />charges have increased $159,000, or 9.9 percent. <br />6. The Recreation Fee and Non Fee Activity budgets include a <br />combined $107,000 in professional services for contracted <br />instructors and athletic officials. These were charged to <br />Personal Services (Temporary Salaries) in prior years. This <br />level of expenditures reflects a significant increase in Rec- <br />reation programs.
