Police
As part of the agreement for provision of Police Services to
the City of Falcon Heights, the Police Department is adding
an Investigator, a 1/2 time Clerk, and a 1/2 time Community
Service Officer.
2. Community Development
The department is adding a Planner and a 1/2 time Clerk.
There are no significant changes proposed in the City's overall
compensation system. The City's pay levels are competitive with
those of other cities, as indicated by surveys of comparable
metro area cities.
Internal pay equity concerns were addressed in recent years based
on job evaluation studies and the Comparable Worth Law.
Based on staff's understanding of the most recent revisions of
the Comparable Worth Law, the City is in reasonable compliance
with the law. However, future changes in the law or in the
interpretation of the requirements of the law could require
additional equity adjustments.
Other Current Expenses
The increase in Other Current Expenses is due to increases in
several areas.
1. The most significant is the increase of $175,000, or 9.9
percent, in the MWCC sewer charges.
2
The Storm Water Utility has an increase of $34,800 in
contractual maintenance to enable the hiring of a private
contractor to assist with the leaf pickup program.
0
