NO. <br />100-012.000 <br />1994 1994 <br />REChID ADOPTED <br />453,810 <br />19,470 <br />31,247 <br />504,527 <br />OBJECTIVE: <br />To conduct criminal investigations to successfully resolve criminal <br />activity, and assist in the successful prosecution of offenders. <br />To identify patterns of criminal activity and develop preventive <br />' techniques, decreasing the opportunity to successfully commit <br />` crime. <br />ACTIVITY: <br />1. The Investigationa unit, comprised of one Sergeant, three <br />Investigators, and one Juvenile Officer, investigates crime <br />with assistance of patrol personnel and outside agencies. <br />They collect and preserve evidence during the course of <br />inveatigating, and maintain the proper ehain of evidence. <br />2. The Records Unit, consiating of three and one-half Police <br />office clerka, processes all reports initiated by Roseville <br />officers. The Chief's secretary also assists this unit. <br />Information for every incident must be sorted, entered into <br />the computer, and filed. All criminal reports going to <br />outside agencies are typed (started in 1987). <br />3. The Crime Prevention Coordinator works to develop contacts <br />with citizena and business people in an effort to reduce <br />crime opportunities and effects on the community. This <br />peraon also worka to start up more Neighborhood Watch groups. <br />4. The School Liaison unit, comprised of the School Liaison <br />Officer and Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Officer, <br />worka with students to improve =elations between atudents and <br />Police, to prevent crime, and to prevent drug abuse. The <br />D.A.R.E. program atarted in 1990 and reaches all 6th graders <br />in Roseville achools. <br />EXPENDITURE COMMENTS: <br />No major change for 1994. <br />C -10 <br />
