There are no significant changes proposed in <br />the City's overall compensation syatem. The City's pay levels <br />are competitive with those of other cities, as indicated by <br />surveys of comparable metro area cities. <br />The 1993 full-time personnel authorization has been maintained <br />with the exception of one police officer position being eleminat- <br />i ed through attrition. In addition, it is recommended the Natu- <br />` ralist position be converted to full-time in 1994. <br />No other new positions have been included. <br />Other Current Exvenaes <br />The increase in Other Current Expensea is due to primarily normal <br />inflation increases. There are no major changes in program or <br />costs contemplated for 1994. <br />Fire Pension <br />The City approved an increase in Fire Relief pensions for 1993 <br />and 1994. Those increases will require a substantial increase in <br />tax levy from previous years. <br />A -5 <br />
