<br />The General Fund accounts for all financial transactions not properly accounted
<br />for in any otlier fund. Revenues (including operating transfers) o£ tlle General
<br />Fund totaled $3,675,771, an increase of $327,961 from 1980. Expenditures (in-
<br />cludina operating transfers) for the General Pund totaled a3,496,812, an increase
<br />of $240,370 over the previous year. The fund Ualance increased by $178,959,
<br />and was $1,553,396 at the end of the year. " ""-`-
<br />The fund balance is available to provide working capital for the fund until tax
<br />' settlements are received in July and December of each year, to provide funds for
<br />unknown events which would have an adverse effect on the fund, and to help
<br />finance future budgets.
