MINNESOTA <br />NOTES TO FINANCIAL STATEMENTS - (CONTINUE�) <br />�ECEMHER 31,1989 <br />Note 12 - Defined eenefit Pension Plan - Votunteer Fire Relief Associaiion (Continued) <br />PLan Descriotion: <br />VoLunteer fire fighters of the City join the association under the following requirements: <br />(7) They cannot be a suhstitute or probationary votunteer. <br />(2) They do not have a medicat impairment or condition that constitutes a predicta6le or <br />unwarranted risk for the assotiation. � <br />(3) They must pay annual dues. <br />A member in good standing is entitted to pension benefits as follows: <br />Age and Service Retirement <br />Etigibility - 50 years of age, memher of the association for at leasi 10 years and has served in the <br />RoseviLLe Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. <br />Monthly Benefit - a member at the full service pension levet will receive E15 per month for each year <br />of service up to a maximum credit of 30 years of service.� . <br />Lump Sum - At the option of the retiree, a tump sum settlement of pension henefits may be selected. <br />The lump sum shaLL be 81500 for each year of service. <br />Disabilitv ftetirement <br />Temporary Disability - a member who is temporarity disabled shaLL receive 810 per day, not to exceed <br />26 weeks. <br />Permanent Oisahility - a member who is permanentty disa6led in the tine of duty shatl receive the <br />maximum pension set out in the monthly benefit and lump sum section above. The computaTion uill assume <br />20 years service untess ihe mem6er's years of service are greater. Actuat years ot service or 20 years, <br />whichever provides the highest benefit, witl he used for computation purposes. <br />Member's Death WhiLe Active <br />ELigibiLity - Spouse legatly married to memher at Leasf one year before separation from service and <br />residing with memher at the time of death. <br />Child - Under the age of 18 and was�born uithin nine (9) months after death of inember. , <br />eenefits <br />Spouse - Entitled to 100% of benefits of inem6er, <br />Child - If a surviving spouse , there is no additional benefit.
