THE GENERAL FUND <br />The General Fund was established to account for the revenue and expenditures to carry out basic <br />govemmental acfivities of the City such as general government, public safety, and public works. <br />Revenue is recorded by source; such as property ta�ces, licenses and permits, fines and forfeits, <br />charges for services, and state-shazed ta�ces. General Fund expenditures aze made primarily for <br />cuttent day-to-day operations and are recorded by functional classifications and by operating <br />departments. This fund accounts for all financial transactions not propedy accounted for in <br />another fund. <br />
