Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement
Commission
Agenda Item
DATE: July 18, 2018 ITEM: 7e
ITEM DESCRIPTION: Review Previous Work Done on Racial Profiling
Background
In 2017, the Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission conducted some research
and work regarding concerns brought forward at a City Council meeting by Roseville residents
regarding a racial profiling incident. A subcommittee of the commission was formed to look
further into ways in which the commission could address these types of issues. The City Council
did indicate that subcommittees were no longer appropriate for the commission, and while the
commission was in the process of putting together their work plan, this issue was set aside. At
the meeting in June, it was requested to bring back the work that was done by the
subcommittee to review as a full commission.
Attached is the report from the subcommittee.
Attachment:
A.
