Roseville Public Works, Environment and
Transportation Commission
Agenda Item
Date: July 24, 2018
Item Description: Pathway Master Plan Update
Background:
Item No: 5
Staff presented the Pathway Master Plan to the City Council on July 9. Overall, the updated plan
was well received. The Council had discussion on two areas in the scoring criteria that they had
some comments on.
The first area was a suggestion for increased scoring around schools. Staff looked into changing
the rating but there are minimal pathway segments remaining near schools and changing the
ranking would have minimal impact to the scores.
The second area Council wanted the PWETC to look at was how the scoring system takes into
account existing pathway on one side of a road. There was discussion if segments should get a
bonus for not having any pathway currently or possibly deducting points if there was a pathway
on one side of the road. Since the scoring system is a project preference list, staff felt the best
way to deal with the pathway scoring was to leave the scoring as is but highlight the segments
that were high volume (>4,000 ADT) arterial roadways with no off street pathways currently
constructed.
Staff will make a short presentation on the proposed changes.
Recommended Action:
Receive presentation and ask questions/provide comments.
Attachments:
A.
