<br />7) DISCUSSION OF 2018 COMMUNITY SURVEY RESULTS <br />Staff provided a brief background on the community survey results, highlighting a few <br />significant Parks and Recreation scores, including: <br /> 95% of respondents rate the Parks and Recreation facilities as either excellent or <br />good <br /> 41% of households reported that they participate in a city sponsored activity or <br />program <br /> 47% of respondents report that they use the trail system at least once per week <br /> 89% are aware that the City opened the new Park Buildings <br /> 54% have visited or used one of the new Park Buildings <br /> 99% of the people who visited or used the Park Buildings would rate their experience <br />as excellent or good <br /> <br />Commissioner Hoag inquired if the 11% of those who reported using the athletic facilities <br />was in line with previous usage, or is it trending down due to the age of the Roseville <br />population. Staff recalled it was similar. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gelbach questioned if the perception of higher crime is something that should <br />be considered with the Parks. Staff confirmed that the Police Department will be providing <br />crime statistics to the City Council at an upcoming meeting. <br /> <br />The commission discussed the occasional vandalism in/at the parks and buildings and <br />wondered if that was an issue. It was reiterated to always call 911 if there are any concerns. <br /> <br />8) FOLLOW-UP TO JOINT MEETING WITH THE CITY COUNCIL <br />The Commission discussed the outcome of the joint meeting with the City Council. Overall, <br />the Commission felt well received. <br /> <br />Chair O’Brien inquired about the next time that the Commission would have a joint meeting <br />with the City Council. Staff confirmed that there is not a set time for the next meeting. <br />Potentially, Commissioners could present the name recommendations for 1716 Marion Street <br />and 2134 Cleveland Avenue. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed some of the feedback including the suggestion to provide unique <br />offerings and the evaluation of the Natural Resource Stewardship Program. <br /> <br />9) STAFF REPORT <br /> The fall brochures will be in homes in the next few weeks <br /> 2 Final Discover Your Parks (DYP) events remain (Aug 8 at Keller Mayflower Park <br />and Aug 15 at Autumn Grove Park) <br /> <br /> <br />
