Roseville Proclamation <br /> Fair Housing Month <br /> April <br /> Whereas: The month of April marks the anniversary of the passage of the Federal <br /> Fair Housing Law of 1968,recognizing that no American should have their right to purchase or rent <br /> shelter of choice abridged because of race, color,religion, sex,handicap, familial status or national origin, <br /> sexual orientation or gender identity <br /> Whereas: Equality of opportunity for all is a fundamental policy of this nation and the City of <br /> Roseville; and <br /> Whereas: The location that people live has a direct impact on the quality of their health, education <br /> and access to economic opportunities; and <br /> Whereas: Discriminatory housing practices create racial and economic segregation in communities <br /> that can lead to disparate outcomes in overall quality of life; and <br /> Whereas: Economic stability, community health, and human relations in all communities are <br /> improved by diversity and integration; and <br /> Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to promoting housing choices and fostering inclusive <br /> communities, free from housing discrimination; and <br /> Whereas: The City Council establishes the City of Roseville as an inclusive community committed <br /> to fair housing by applying this to its housing programs and services; and promotes appropriate activities <br /> by private and public entities intended to provide or advocate for equal housing opportunities for all <br /> residents and prospective residents of Roseville; <br /> Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare April to be Fair <br /> Housing Month in the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota,U.S.A <br /> In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of <br /> Roseville to be affixed this day of April <br /> Mayor Dan Roe <br />
