Roseville Public Works, Environment and
Transportation Commission
Agenda Item
Date: September 25, 2018 Item No: 5
Item Description: Review of On Campus Solar Options
Background:
Staff will present a quick review of the presentation that the City Council received on September
171' related to proposed options for the installation of Solar Arrays on the City Campus. Staff has
been directed by the City Council to return to the City Council on October 22°d with agreements
for the installation of solar arrays on the rooftops of City Hall, the Fire Station and the
Maintenance Facility. Staff was also directed to seek input from the Finance Commission prior
to October 22°d.
This gives the PWET Commission an opportunity to make a formal recommendation to the City
Council if so desired. Attached are the materials presented to the City Council on September
171'.
Recommended Action:
Receive an update on the efforts by staff and the direction provided by the City Council for the
installation of solar arrays on the City Campus.
A recommendation from the Commission would be in order. Staff recommends the following:
The Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission recommends to the City
Council that solar arrays under the Solar Rewards program be installed on the rooftops of City
Hall, the Fire Station and the Maintenance Facility. The Commission further recommends that a
solar array under the PV Demand Credit program be installed on the Maintenance Facility as
well.
Attachments:
A.
