EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the Cityof <br /> Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the twenty-second day of October 2018,at <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> The following members were present: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee and Roe <br /> and the following were absent: none. <br /> Member Laliberte introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION No. 11546 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING WORK TO BEGIN TO MAKE THE CITY OF <br /> ROSEVILLE A HEART SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> WHEREAS, the Roseville Fire Department consists of trained First Responders whoprovide <br /> emergency assistance in times of medical emergencies including Sudden Cardiac Arrest;and <br /> WHEREAS,the Roseville Fire Department is equipped, willing and able to cooperate with the <br /> Roseville Community Health Awareness Team(CHAT)to coordinate the resources and education efforts <br /> of the Heart Safe Community Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, providing education, CPR and AED training, and sharing information onthe <br /> placement of AED 's in the community increases the survival of Sudden Cardiac Arrest;and <br /> WHEREAS,the goal of the City of Roseville is to improve the chances that anyone suffering a <br /> Sudden Cardiac Arrest will have the best possible chance for survival; and <br /> WHEREAS, bystander CPR and access to an AED is a vital piece of the Chain of Survival for <br /> victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Heart Safe Community Program increases the chances a victim will havethe <br /> opportunity to receive bystander CPR in our community. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Roseville City Council authorizes Roseville to <br /> begin the process to become a Heart Safe Community. <br />
