EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the Cityof Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the twenty-second day of October 2018,at 6:00 p.m. The following members were present: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee and Roe and the following were absent: none. Member Laliberte introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION No. 11546 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING WORK TO BEGIN TO MAKE THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE A HEART SAFE COMMUNITY WHEREAS, the Roseville Fire Department consists of trained First Responders whoprovide emergency assistance in times of medical emergencies including Sudden Cardiac Arrest;and WHEREAS,the Roseville Fire Department is equipped, willing and able to cooperate with the Roseville Community Health Awareness Team(CHAT)to coordinate the resources and education efforts of the Heart Safe Community Program; and WHEREAS, providing education, CPR and AED training, and sharing information onthe placement of AED 's in the community increases the survival of Sudden Cardiac Arrest;and WHEREAS,the goal of the City of Roseville is to improve the chances that anyone suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest will have the best possible chance for survival; and WHEREAS, bystander CPR and access to an AED is a vital piece of the Chain of Survival for victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest; and WHEREAS, the Heart Safe Community Program increases the chances a victim will havethe opportunity to receive bystander CPR in our community. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,that the Roseville City Council authorizes Roseville to begin the process to become a Heart Safe Community.
