Fire Chief K.Fab;¡ranske and 1st Ass't Chief H.Lynch submitted a letter requesting that 2 paid men be hired full time for the sufficient operation of the Fire Dept. They also indicated that sabotage to the fire apparatus was taking place..tfter considerable discussion, it was agreed to meet with the Tovffi Board of Rose to òiscuss with them the recommendations made by the chief and ass't chief. .. 1~ Oscar Gottfried asked for a postponement EX(~hezmeBixtmn of the rezoning of his property.He indicated that he was working on the possibility to face the proposed building on Larpenteur Ave instead of Hamline as it/appeared that all property mmers on HamIine Ave are opposed to the rezoning with building facing HamliD~ Ave.H~~~ersten moved,Pothen seconded to l~ over the rezoning matter until August 3rd,1948.Roll Call:~Tes-(S),Nays-(O). The Clerk reported that the bids submitted for the grading of Ryan Ave and Shryer Ave seemed to be in order.IAueller moved, Carlson seconded to submit the bids to the County Engineers office for a further check up and when the contracts are let, to ask the County Engineers to supervise the work of grading the two streets. Mueller moved, Carlson seconded that contracts be awarded to M.S.Mergens,the lowest responsible bidder subject to the approval of the "Co.Engineers that the bids conform to the specifications and authorize the Village attorney to draw up contracts.
