Finance Commission Minutes <br />August 21, 2014 <br />Page 9 of 9 <br />approximately .33 cents per month. The City property taxes would increase approximately $7.56 <br />per month for a typical single-family home. <br />Commissioner Hodder suggested finding a way to help the public understand all of the different <br />components of their property tax statements and how it all comes together. <br />Review 2014 Community Survey <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to table the Review of the 2014 Community Survey. <br />Discuss Developing a Peer Group for Financial Comparisons <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to table Discuss Developing a Peer Group for Financial <br />Comparisons. <br />Identify Discussion Items for the September 9, 2014 Meeting <br />Chair Schroeder suggested the September meeting include Citizen Survey, the Budget Process, <br />reviewing Different Report Formats, the Capital Replacement Strategies, and Discussion on the <br />Capital Funds Reserves. <br />Commissioner Zeller stated he would continue working on the analysis of the Reserve funds <br />including the Capital Budget Reserve and have an update available for the September meeting. <br />Finance Director Miller stated he would have Commissioner Zeller's information regarding the <br />Cash Reserves added to the City's website. <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated the September meeting would also include the Review of the <br />2014 Community Survey and the Discussion on Developing a Peer Group for Financial <br />Comparisons. <br />Vice Chair Rohloff asked if there would be a budget available for the Commission to review at <br />the September 9 meeting. <br />Finance Director Miller stated he would expect some changes to the preliminary budget at the <br />September 8 City Council meeting. There would be an opportunity to discuss this budget at the <br />October Commission meeting and make recommendations to the City Council at that time. <br />Adiourn <br />Commissioner Konidena made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Zeller to adjourn the <br />meeting. The motion carried unanimously. <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:42 p.m. <br />
