Mr. Freihammer stated it is cheaper to go this route as well because the building
does not need to be rebuilt.
7. Items for Next Meeting — January 2019
Discussion ensued regarding the January PWETC agenda:
• Maintenance Facility Study
• Tour of Maintenance Facility
• Resources to Address Climate Change
• Research Water Monitor Technologies
Mr. Culver reminded the Commission there is not meeting in December.
Chair Cihacek asked if the Commercial Water Rates would be ready to review in
January.
Mr. Freihammer stated staff is gathering information and approximately half of it
is done. It is currently with the Finance Department so he was not sure if it would
be ready by the January meeting.
Chair Cihacek thought the Commercial Water Rate discussion may be a couple
hour discussion. He thought February might be a good month to look at that if it
will be ready by then.
Chair Cihacek asked if the Commission could look at resources to address climate
change or to begin the research for people that would be able to advise the
Commission on forming a policy. He also wondered if the staff could have a
presentation on different water monitor technologies.
Mr. Culver thought if ready, February would be a good month to start discussion
on the Commercial Water Rates.
Chair Cihacek thought that would be a good time to also look at water tech and get
some public interest. March, he thought would be a good month to start to look at
climate change.
Member Misra thought a good starting point could be comparing prevention to
accommodating changes. Looking at those two-pronged areas so as the
Commission moves forward with that discussion prevention could be looked at
versus adaptation.
Chair Cihacek thought the Commission should have a j oint meeting with the Parks
Commission in 2019 to discuss forestry concerns.
Mr. Culver though that would be a good idea and noted the Commission should
review the Master Tree Plan for updates.
