<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date:03/11/19 <br />Item No.: 9e. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description:Approve Roseville Senior Living, LLC Public Improvement Contract <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 The Developerfor a senior housing project on the southeast corner of Dale Street and County <br />3 Road C, Roseville Senior Living LLC, has worked with the City to develop the Public <br />4 Improvement Contract for the new infrastructure that is needed to serve the redevelopment of the <br />5 property at 2600 Dale Street. The new public infrastructure includes 250 linear feet of new <br />6 concrete sidewalkalong the east side of Dale Street that would connect the development to <br />7 sidewalks on County Road C. The Developer would maintain all of these public improvements <br />8 upon final acceptance. <br />9 D ISCUSSION <br />10 In order to serve the site for the Roseville Senior Living project, the following public <br />11 improvements need to be made. The details of such improvements are specified in the Public <br />12 Improvement Contract (Attachment A) and shown in the plans (Attachment B) and are <br />13 summarized as follows: <br />14 a. Installation of 250 linear feet of new 6’ wide concrete sidewalk along the east side <br />15 of Dale Street. <br />16 All work for the Dale Street sidewalk would be done through the developer’s contractor. All <br />17 costs for the improvements would be paid by the developer. The estimated cost of construction <br />18 of the public infrastructure is $5,000. The developer will provide a financial security in the <br />19 amount of 125% of the estimated cost of construction ($6,250.00) in the event the developer fails <br />20 to perform. <br />21 The City would provide oversite of the construction. The Developer will pay the City $200.00. <br />22 The public improvements are planned to be completed by the end of October 2019. <br />23 The attached contract has been reviewed by the City Attorney. <br />24 F INANCIAL I MPLICATIONS <br />25 The estimated cost of these improvements based on preliminaryfigures provided by the <br />26 developer’s engineering consultant is approximately $5,000. <br />27 The contract as presented has the developer paying for all the costs of the improvement including <br />28 design, inspection, construction and city staff time related to the improvement. The Developer <br />29 will pay the City $200.00 to cover staff time overseeing the project. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
