In Roseville we have few <br />opportunities for Affordable and Section-8 housing. On the <br />Commission I wouldwant to engage the community (renters <br />and Property Agents) regarding housing laws and regulations <br />and how we can increase protection and opportunities for <br />renters of varied histories. As a Commission member I would <br />be able to fulfill my desire to serve the community in a positive <br />manner by pursuing all opportunities of working for those who <br />may be disenfranchised from the "system", or simply left <br />behind. <br />What is your view of the <br />I believe the role of the HRIEC is to inform City policy decisions <br />role of this Commission? <br />and pursue opportunities which ensure Roseville is a <br />community which supports all residents backgrounds, cultures, <br />and heritages. To ensure our City is inclusive the Commission <br />must provide critical insight and informed recommendations by <br />utilizing community input received at Commission led events <br />focused toward dialogue and feedback. To this end, the role of <br />the Commission is to also ensure civic participation in the many <br />events, programs, and public forums open to residents. <br />Ensuring they are accessible to those with disabilities, English <br />as a second language, and the working class will promote an <br />active and influential Commission in upholding residents' vision <br />for Roseville's future. <br />What specific skills or <br />At the University of St. Thomas I studied the many subjects of <br />experiences do you have <br />Social Justice including Conflict Resolution and Restorative <br />that would be beneficial <br />Justice. Conflict Resolution has provided me with tools to <br />in serving on the advisory <br />mediating community disputes.
