If this is a student application
Field not completed.
please list grade in school
Note
There is no character limit for the fields below.
Why do you want to serve on
I am a relatively new resident of Roseville, a husband, and a father of
this Commission?
a young boy. I have heard from neighbors who love Roseville and
those who lament it is not what it used to be. I am very concerned
about the environment and the future out children face. There is a
great deal that can be done at the local level to deal with pollution and
climate change, and I think Roseville could benefit by trying to lead
rather than follow in this area. We could become an example to others
around the metro area, the state, and the country. This will provide our
residents with a sense of pride for our city and help us all feel like we
are an important part of the solutions. I really hope to be a part of that
change.
What is your view of the role
ThePublic Works, Environment, and Transportation Commission
of this Commission?
serves as an advisory group that works keep abreast of issues of
infrastructure, transportation and the environment from the national to
local level. The commission advises the city council on policies and
priorities for maintaining and updating our public works and
transportation systems in ways that best serve the people of Roseville
and provide positive environmental impacts.
What specific skills or
think a commission is well served by a mix of long-term residents and
experiences do you have that
new community members. This imbues the commission with both
would be beneficial in
critical experience as well as new perspectives and ideas. I am new to
serving on the advisory
the community and have not served on similar commissions; however,
commission for which you
I am willing and excited to learn about issues of public work,
are applying?
environment, and transportation. These are areas that are important to
me. I have a Ph.D. in Biology, am a relatively quick learner, and I have
an above average understanding of environmental issues. I have lived
in a number of different cities, large and small. I am open-minded and
patient listening to others' thoughts and perspectives. As a scientist, I
strive to consider the evidence and use it to determine the best
solutions to problems. I think these are all characteristics that would
make me an invaluable member of the Roseville Public Works,
Environment, and Transportation Commission.
If you identified a second
Field not completed.
choice commission, please
include skills or experiences
that would be beneficial for
serving on that commission.
86
