REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 2/25/2019 <br /> Item No.: 7.a <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Public Hearing to Approve/Deny an On-Sale Wine and On-Sale 3.2% Liquor <br />License Civitali Restaurant Corporation dba Punch Neapolitan Pizza located at <br />1767 County Road B2 W. <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 Under City Code, a public hearing is required to consider approving liquor licenses for the current <br />3 calendar year. The City has received applications for 2019 Liquor Licenses as follows: <br />4 <br />5 Civitali Restaurant Corporation dba Punch Neapolitan Pizza On-Sale Wine License <br />6 Civitali Restaurant Corporation dba Punch Neapolitan Pizza On-Sale 3.2% Liquor License <br />7 <br />8 Neither State Statute nor City Code limits the number of licenses that can be issued for On-Sale Wine or <br />9 On-Sale 3.2% Liquor Licenses. <br />10 <br />11 applications are complete according to City Code. <br />12 <br />13 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />14 The regulation of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages has been a long-standing practice by the <br />15 State and the City. <br />16 F INANCIAL I MPACTS <br />17 The revenue that is generated from the license fees is used to offset the cost of police compliance checks, <br />18 background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license administration. <br />19 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION <br />20 The applicant meets all requirements set forth under City Code.
