<br />VILLAGE COUNCIL QF ROSEVILLE <br />Meeting,Tuesday,Marci 1at,1949 at 2 PM <br /> <br />51. <br /> <br />---------------- .---- ~.._----------------- <br /> <br />The Village Council met on the above date in a regular seflsion with the <br />following members present:Mue1ler,~,Hammersten,Carlson,Membrez.Ira Karon, <br />village attorney and Frank Leinen,tresurer were also present.Pothen was absent. <br /> <br />The Clerk read the minutes of February 15 and 17th and on motion by Mueller, <br />seconded by Hammersten,they were approved as read.Rol1 Call:Ayes-(ø),Nays-(O). <br /> <br />Clayton Thompson requested an exten~ion to his special permit to reside in a <br />basement. Carlson moved, seconded b,y Hammersten to extend this special permit six <br />months from this date.Roll callaAyes-(~),N~s-(O). <br /> <br /><;.,/~' <br /> <br />Alfred Dettmann also requested an extension to his special permit to live in a <br />portable ar~ hut.Mueller moved,secondect by Carlson to extend this special permit <br />for 6 months.Roll Cal1:AYes-(~),Nays-(O). <br /> <br />Oscar Gottfried submitted a petition for the rezoning of the following described <br />property: <br />The South 261 feet of the SWt of the SEì of sect.15,Town 29N,Range 23W, <br />lying East of the property owned by Ramsey County for drainage purposes <br />subject to County and Village road right-of-w~. <br />from Class A residebtial district to a Business District. <br />Mr.Gottfried did not have a certicate from the Abstract Co showing the property <br />owners within 500 feet. Mueller moved, seconded by Carlson to accept this petition. <br />Roll call:Ayes-(~),NaYB-(O) <br />Hammersten moved, seconded by Carlson that a Public Hearing be held on March 15th <br />on this matter provided however that Mr.Gottfried supplied the Clerk with the <br />Abstract certificate.Ro11 Ca1l;Ayes-(~),Nays-(O). <br /> <br />Mr.Holmes representing a group of students from the Bible Institute appeared before <br />the Council to inquire about a tract of land in Roseville for the erection of appro <br />20 barracks for the students.Mr.Holmes informed the Council that the City of st.Pau1 <br />requested them to vacate tile property on which these barracks are located. <br />The Village having no land available for that purpose informed Mr.Holmes that the <br />only w~ this request could be considered is for them to lease or buy some land <br />to erect these barracks and get the signatures of the adjoining property owners <br />in dicating their approval to such a project. The Council could not consider this <br />matter at this time. <br /> <br />Mr.Wo1fgram, surveyor appeared with Mr.Toenajes in regard to a road whim is platted <br />along the South of Toenjes property.It was suggested that a 33 ft easement is more <br />satisfactory than a ho ft easement as submitted.Mr.Wolfgram promised to submit a <br />new 33 ft easement. <br /> <br />It was suggested that the clerk notifies the City of St.Paul about the paper <br />blowing from the city dump to the residential sections of Rosevi1le Village. <br /> <br />It was also reported that the sign st.ßtevens st. should be changed to read <br />st. Stephens st. <br /> <br />Membrez moved,seconde~ by Carlson to instruct the road overseer to gravel Shryer Ave. <br />Roll Cal1:Ayes-(~),Nays-(O). <br /> <br />A billboard ordinance No.117 was pressented and on motion by Mue11er,seconded b.Y <br />Hammersten it was adopted. Roll Ca11:Ayes-(~),N~s-(O). <br /> <br />Mueller moved, Carlson seconded to purchase a ~OUGH cash register for the 1iqour <br />store at the price of $391.50.Ro11 call:Ayee-~,N~s-(O). <br />
