Attachment A <br /> <br /> <br />Office (651) 265--kim@saintpaulchamber.com <br />Professional Experience <br />Planning Consultant for Strategic Initiatives, 2018-Present <br />SPACC is a dynamic network of employers and individuals organized to deliver economic opportunity for its more than 1,200 members. <br /> <br /> Developed and led WorkStream, a new division providing consulting and professional services to business <br />organizations and community initiatives. <br /> Researched opportunities and prepared new business pitches and proposals. <br /> Worked with small associations and chambers to deliver professional services such as board leadership, events, <br />membership service, marketing communications and strategic planning. <br /> Supported SPACC signature and annual events including Equity Summit, Deubener Awards, Holiday Open House, <br />Membership Meetings, Leaders in Local Government, Foundation Events and more. <br /> <br />Legislative Aide to City Council President, 2012-2018 <br />Home to more than 300,000 people, Saint Paul is the capital city of Minnesota and a cultural and economic hub. <br /> <br /> Directly participated in all aspects of municipal policy-making, communications, public relations, project <br />management and constituent services. <br /> Selected to serve on Saint Paul 3K Task Force with elected officials, advocates and educators to research and <br />recommend options for universal access to pre-school education for all city youth. <br /> Led commission of city, county and school district staff, students and parents to develop a Safe Routes to School <br />pedestrian safety plan for area high school. Effort resulted in the successful grant application for over $1 Million in <br />infrastructure improvements. <br /> Collaborated on an award-winning multi-jurisdictional planning effort to revitalize the Rice Street and Larpenteur <br />Avenue commercial and residential area. Successfully raised funds to create Gateway Corridor Vision, adopted by <br />three participating cities and funded with $350,000 in capital improvements in Saint Paul. <br /> Established and led North End Development Team, a community advisory group to advocate and oversee <br />neighborhood economic development and revitalization initiatives. <br /> Researched and wrote policy memoranda and enacted legislation on a wide variety of topics including fair and <br />affordable housing, immigration and refugee issues, code enforcement and permitting. <br /> Managed all external communications including newsletters, press releases, social media, website copy, direct mail <br />campaigns and public speeches. <br /> Supervised volunteers, interns and campaign staff, and supported the development of new community leaders. <br /> Played a key role in cross- <br />improvement budget process for improved efficiency and equity. <br /> Attended National League of Cities Conferences; touring and learning about cutting-edge best practices in <br />municipal governance in Boston, Seattle and Austin. <br /> Attended Minnesota Main Street Training by the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota to learn strategies for <br />community redevelopment and downtown revitalization. <br /> <br />Community Relations Manager, 2008- <br />2012 <br /> education. <br /> <br /> Led state and federal public policy initiatives to improve the lives of at-risk children and families through direct <br />lobbying, work in coalitions and grassroots advocacy. <br /> Organized media events, drafted media advisories and acted as agency spokesperson, giving interviews on camera <br />to promote initiatives. <br />14 <br /> <br /> <br />
