Our goal is to get every person in Roseville to complete the census form. person will be able to <br />complete the 2020 census online, by phone or on paper. It will take just a few minutes to <br />complete the forms. Information will be kept confidential. <br />The information that is collected will be used for: <br /> - Census data determines the number of seats each state has in the U.S. <br />House of Representatives, as well as districts for state government. Minnesota is at risk of <br />losing a seat in Congress. <br /> - Census data guides federal spending allocation of approximately $589 billion <br />to local communities every year. If 100 people do not complete the census in Roseville, <br />over ten years the city would lose about $1.5 million in federal funding for transportation, <br />education, health care and other services. <br />Planning - Census data helps federal, state and local governments plan transportation, <br />schools, hospitals, senior centers, emergency services and other needs to best serve <br />changing demographics. <br /> - Census data assists businesses in investing in the community including <br />locating businesses, factories and stores, recruiting employees and conducting market <br />research. <br />Common concerns that keep people from completing the census: <br />Mistrust of government/confidentiality <br />Not relevant/important/doesnt impact their lives <br />Not enough time <br />Language barriers <br /> <br />
