Roseville Public Works, Environment and <br />Transportation Commission <br />Agenda Item <br />Date: April 23, 2019 <br />Item Description: Sustainable Roseville <br />Item No: 7 <br />Background: <br />Philipp Muessig, GreenStep Cities Program Coordinator, MN Pollution Control Agency, and <br />Sean Gosiewski, Executive Director, Alliance for Sustainability will both present on Roseville's <br />current sustainability efforts, and what could be done by the City in the future. <br />Minnesota GreenSten Cities, through the MN Pollution Control Agency, is a voluntary <br />challenge, assistance and recognition program to help cities achieve their sustainability and <br />quality -of -life goals. This free continuous improvement program, managed by a public -private <br />partnership, is based upon 29 best practices. Each best practice can be implemented by <br />completing one or more actions at a 1, 2 or 3-star level, from a list of four to eight actions. These <br />actions are tailored to all Minnesota cities, focus on cost savings and energy use reduction, and <br />encourage civic innovation. <br />The Alliance for Sustainability supports elected leaders, city staff, and commission volunteers <br />from 40+ MN Cities who are collaborating to meet their community -wide energy, climate, and <br />resilience. <br />Recommended Action: <br />Receive presentations, ask questions, and provide feedback. <br />Attachments: <br />A.
