Approval of August 27, 2019 Meeting Minutes <br />128 Comments and corrections to draft minutes had been submitted by PWETC <br />129 commissioners prior to tonight's meeting and those revisions incorporated into the <br />130 draft presented in meeting materials. <br />131 <br />132 Motion <br />133 Member Wozniak moved, Member Hammer seconded, approval of the August <br />134 27, 2019 meeting minutes as presented. <br />135 <br />136 Ayes:6 <br />137 Nays:0 <br />138 Motion carried. <br />139 <br />140 4. Communication Items <br />141 Public Works Director Marc Culver provided a brief review and update on projects <br />142 and maintenance activities listed in the staff report dated September 24, 2019. <br />143 <br />144 Member Wozniak asked if County Road C will be reopened soon. <br />145 <br />146 Mr. Culver explained the city is hopeful the barrels will be removed on County <br />147 Road C by the end of the week. <br />148 <br />149 Mr. Culver asked the Commission for a couple of volunteers to be on a task force <br />150 to meet with the Youth Commissioner candidate. <br />151 <br />152 Chair Cihacek, Members Hammer and Wozniak volunteered. <br />153 <br />154 Mr. Culver reviewed the items the city Council discussed at their meetings since <br />155 the last PWETC meeting including train crossing horns study and the campus <br />156 master plan discussion. <br />157 <br />158 5. Best Management Practices For Lawns <br />159 Public Works Director Marc Culver provided a brief review and update on Best <br />160 Management Practices for Lawns listed in the staff report dated September 24, <br />161 2019. <br />162 <br />163 Professor Daniel Sandor, University of Minnesota Dept of Horticultural Science, <br />164 made a presentation to the Commission regarding Lawn Care Practices for Water <br />165 Conservation. <br />166 <br />167 Mr. Culver asked how much rainfall is needed to consider the grass recovered. <br />168 <br />169 Professor Sandor noted he did not have that data with him but could send it to the <br />170 Commission. He explained depending on the volume of rainfall and the intensity <br />171 and how dry that soil is after the sixty-day mark, it can take a while depending on <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />
