REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: October 7, 2019 <br />Item No.: 9.c <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Approve a Resolution Approving Final Contract Acceptance of the 2019 <br />Sanitary Sewer Lining Project <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 On December 3, 2018, the City Council awarded the 2019 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project to Visu- <br />3 sewer, Inc. The work for this contract was finished in Septemberof 2019, and the contractor has <br />4 requested final payment. This project consisted of lining for approximately 7 miles in areas <br />5 identified as having root intrusion or infiltration problems. Approximately 1.78 miles of the project <br />6 are within the City of Falcon Heights. The City of Roseville executed a joint powers construction <br />7 agreement with Falcon Heights that includes this work. The City of Roseville will invoice the City <br />8 of Falcon Heights for all work that was completed within Falcon Heights. <br />9 P OLICY O BJECTIVE <br />10 City policy requires that the following items be completed to finalize a construction contract: <br />11 Certification from the City Engineer verifying that all of the work has been completed in <br />12 accordance with plans and specifications. <br />13 A resolution by the City Council accepting the contract and beginning the one-year warranty. <br />14 F INANCIAL I MPACTS <br />15 The final contract amount is $858,385.45, which is the same as the original contract amount. <br />16 $182,128.00 of that amount will be billed to the City of Falcon Heights. <br />17 This project was funded using sanitary sewer and storm sewer utility funds for Roseville’s portion of <br />18 the project. <br />19 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION <br />20 Since all necessary items have been completed in accordance with project plans and specifications, <br />21 staff recommends the City Council approve a resolution approving final contract acceptance ofthe <br />22 2019 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project and authorize final payment of $42,441.91. <br />23 R EQUESTED C OUNCIL A CTION <br />24 Consider approval of a resolution approving final contract acceptance of the 2019 Sanitary Sewer <br />25 Lining Project. <br />Prepared by: Jesse Freihammer, City Engineer/Asst.
