<br />Police Civil Service Commission <br /> <br />Police Civil Service Commission Minutes <br />Tuesday, November 07, 2012 1:00 pm <br />City Hall Elm Room, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Roseville, MN 55113 <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Chairperson Zoe Jenkins, Recording Secretary Brad VanderVegt, <br />Commissioner Don Drackert <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> Chief Rick Mathwig <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jenkins at 1:00PM. <br /> <br />2. The Agenda for todays meeting was reviewed and approved as submitted. <br /> <br />3. The minutes of the September 25, 2012, meeting were reviewed and <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />4. Chief Mathwig presented the commission with an updated 2012 Police Officer <br />Hire List. This list was created following the conclusion of the most recent <br />rounds of interviews. The department drew a total of 405 interested <br />applicants for the position of which 75 were selected for interviews. The <br />number of candidates was narrowed to 17 finalists selected to appear before <br />the Chiefs Panel. Those finalists have been ranked and the list will be <br />maintained by the department. Chief Mathwig reports the department has <br />attracted a well qualified pool of candidates and he is pleased with the caliber <br />of potential officers he has to select from. <br /> <br />5. Commissioner Drackert, having sat and observed a portion of the interview <br />process, gave high praise for the ?professionalism of the process? and <br />commended Chief Mathwig and his outstanding staff for their work and <br />dedication to the departments current and future officers. <br /> <br />6.
