The presentation goals were to cover a brief
overview of the volunteer program, provide a status report and offer information on how the
Commission and public can help.
The following is the vision of the Natural Resources Program: volunteers, staff, and consultants
rd
working together to accomplish our goals. Initially, the vision was met with the every 3Saturday
volunteer events. However, going forward only having a once a month event will not be enoughto
keep up with the need. As a result, multiple types of Natural Resources Events have been introduced,
including:

Staff/contractor led
Volunteer led
Informal
Arboretum Green Team
Adopt-a-Park volunteers
Community service volunteers
Eagle Scout projects
Informal – self-guided

1
